This month, our first one back for the year, we focused on a technique called faux embossing or dry embossing as it is also known I think. I used this technique a few years back on this card here when I demonstrated the technique at a craft show. As it is Sale-a-Bration too, we used some of the stamps, paper and embellishments on offer for this years promotion. There really is a great collection in the brochure this year. What is ESAD?

I have created a wall hanging organiser for you today using the GORJUS Everyday Enchantment Papers, the Ribbon/Brad pack and the Fresh Vintage stamp set. I got this idea from the talented Tammy Maxvill on 'UStamp Oh My Word Edition 2011' .I purchased this frame from IKEA (love that place) and used some cork sheets in the bottom left panel to create a 'pinboard' using the brads. The ribbon is used in the bottom right panel to place photos, notes reminders etc... The top right panel uses the scallop envelope die (cut twice and made a box out of them) to hold receipts etc..and the top left panel is your 'tear-off' calendar for the year's important dates. I have embellished the frame with some die cut butterflies in Poppy Parade and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The floral image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set has been stamped on the calendar and the notes using the markers. Thanks for visiting today :-)

More Wedding ideas....

You may remember the wedding collection I posted last month, well I have been putting together some other ideas using the same black and white theme.
I got the idea for this funky folded invite here. I have used the new wedding stamp set Marry Me and embossed it with black embossing powder. The scallop oval has been embossed with the vintage wallpaper folder with the Big Shot and then sprayed with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz. I have given her an engagement ring using a rhinestone and a little glitter on her veil edging and for her tiara. The flowers around the edge come from the set You are Loved and the inside invite uses the Love Blossoms wheel and the trim is using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch.
I also did an alternate cover for the pocket invite I posted last time. This one uses the textured Vanilla Cardstock with the belly band using the lace border punch, some black satin ribbon and an antique brad.

2011 Christmas Cards

This year I decided to do two designs, both taking a little longer than expected but at least they are now done, here's hoping people actually receive them by Christmas day :)
The first one uses a technique called ribbon weaving, perfect for a wreath I think. You can see a tutorial here. I used 1.5 metres of Garden Green grosgrain ribbon for this one. I have used the glitter paper for the berries and an antique brad for the door handle. The door has been stamped using the Woodgrain background stamp. The sentiment comes from Curly Cute, I really love that set. The second one (inspired by this card) is a Big Shot overload - man I love that machine! I have used the tulips embossing folder for the outside, the tasteful trim die for the pattern piece at the bottom, the two tags die and the perfect pennants die with the welcome christmas stamp embossed with cherry cobbler. The sentiment comes from Snow Swirled. And finally I have punched a star from the red glitter paper. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Stamp Club Update

My Stamp Club recently finished up for the year and I realised that I had not posted October's projects either so today you will see what we did in the last TWO stamp clubs for the year. Firstly, in October we focused on Christmas and here are the two cards we made. I taught my members the Partial Embossing technique using the petals-a-plenty folder. Tutorial found here. One of my fellow demos (thanks Jane) taught me this technique at a show earlier in the year and I thought it would be perfect to save up for this card. The other card uses some of the new folders in this years catalogue and the new embossing powder in Cherry Cobbler. I also used the Letters to Santa DSP and the new Stocking Punch. More recently this month we did some special cards using the telescoping technique. You can see a tutorial for this technique here. All my ladies loved both lots of cards and some used them as their Christmas cards this year for the their family and friends. Lastly, in addition to the telescope cards we made, I put together this cute little snowman (thanks to Becky Roberts for the idea) It used a battery operated tea light candle for his nose - isnt it cute! So what have I got for you today? It is a cute little wedding collection including an invitation, favour and place card. I got this cute idea from my friend Madeline Morcelo, she originally designed this as a gift card wallet (it was a project part of an Inkspirations4U Summer Edition) but I thought it would make an awesome wedding invitation. I have used the new You are Loved Stamp set and matching Love Blossoms wheel from the New Summer Mini Catalogue relelased TODAY. It is intended as a Valentine's set but I think it works really well for weddings too. I have also used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, the Neutrals DSP, Black Satin Ribbon and Scallop Oval punch. The favour was made using the Pillow Box Die. I cut it using cardstock vellum through my Big Shot. I then used the Parlor Prints Background stamp with VersaMark and embossed with black embossing powder. The hearts were hand cut on the belly band of the invite. I have used envelopes (cut off at approx. 5") to create the pockets and punched the half circle with the 1" circle punch. These hold the invite in the top and then the acceptance and registry info in the bottom two pockets. You could have as few or as many pockets as you need.Here is another collection using the same stamp set and wheel. This time I have created an invitation with a matching favour using the Fancy Favour Die and a place card (dont look too closely at my horrible handwriting) with a trim using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch. Swap from Regional Conference

I wanted to have a Christmas theme for my swap and I thought the glimmer paper would be perfect for this. The presents are punched from the GORJUS Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, it has some beautiful papers in it that have flocking, not sure if you can tell from the pic (it's so nice to touch). Baby Mania

It seems I am surrounded by babies recently so I must make baby cards to keep up. Here is a boy and girl version of a card I CASED from cant remember where sorry. Some of these things are retired on the girl version but the boy one uses some cute images from the new Baby Bundle Stamp Set. I have used my Big Shot letters and large Scallop Circle Die. I used my Circle Scissor Plus to cut the inner circle and the Polka Dot Embossing Folder for the background.

Inkspirations4U project

I am very honoured to be a designer for Madeline and her team over at Inkspirations4U. This round had a Christmas theme and this time I decided to create a Christmas Card Organiser. I included a template for recording the cards sent and received over the years. It was super cute and had pockets made from full sheets of DSP to keep your cards in ready to send. I used the Big shot for the letters and decorated using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and the new Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon. Thanks for visiting today.

Stamp Club September - New Products

Ok, now this post is WAY overdue (Sorry Roanne and Nikki). The focus for stamp club in September is always the release of the new catalogue and I thought these cards showcased some of the exciting newbies, including the new 'In Colors' and the new 'Mocha Specialty DSP'. I have also used some of the new stamps inlcuding Kindness Matters, Best of Everything, Forever Young and Four Frames. Cant forget those embellishments, I have also used the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and the Lace Ribbon Border punches, and the GORJUS new Ruffled Ribbon in the new Wisteria Wonder (definitely my FAV new colour). And another excuse to make cute baby cards. Our little William now has a cousin. My brother and his wife had a little girl on the weekend, little Ava Jessica. I have been wanting to make one of these telescope cards for ages. When I saw this, I just couldn't resist and what better way to show off the new Little Additions stamp set - I just love it! I used ALL but 2 of the 21 stamps in this set. So I got busy recreating just changing a few colours for a girl theme. Ok I know its been a while but I have a VERY VERY good excuse....I am happy to announce that our little baby William was born late July and hence I have been a little distracted of late. Motherhood is FULL ON! However, I am glad to be back in my craft room doing some creating. I have recreated this gorgeous cute box from one of the projects created by Martha Lucia Gomez over at the latest Inkspirations4U. I am a designer for this group that is run by the fabulous Madeline Morcelo. I put this project together to showcase some of the beautiful new Designer Series Papers, Stamp Sets and Big Shot Designer Frames as well as the gorgeous new seam binding all from the NEW Idea Book and Catalogue just released this month. The paper on the front panel is from the new Mocha Morning Specialty Papers, it has flocking on it and I soooooo love it! Can't go wrong with butterflies if you ask me, this little beauty comes from the new Creative Elements Stamp set. Baby Shower Thank-you Cards

I have finally got these finished -YAY! Now to get them in the post before the baby arrives.... I have been thinking and planning the announcements and got distracted with them but I forced myself to get these out of the way today and now my reward is to do the annoucements - yay more work LOL! I have stuck with the Baja Breeze theme but I have used some retired DSP. Everything else is current. I used the scallop trim border punch and matching corner punch to complete the frame. The sentiments come from Sincere Salutations and Tiny Tags. I have used my absolute favourite ribbon - the White Organza Ribbon and embossed the middle panel with the Polka dots embossing folder. Once again I can't complete a project without using my Big Shot. In the centre of the rattle you will see one of the button embosslits and I embossed the rattle handle with white embossing powder as well as as the 'baby' tag. Lots of work here but all worth it.

Stamp Club #5 - Bleaching

When Kirsty Brown demonstrated this technique at Convention in May I was so inspired and couldn't wait to give it a go. She called her presentation 'Bleaching and Butterflies', her two favourites apparently. Well I love butterflies too so she had my attention straight away. After stamping for nearly 15 years it sometimes takes a bit to get a 'WOW' out of me these days but this was so simple yet sooooooooo impressively effective. I made a special effort to make sure I taught my Stamp Club ladies on my last club meeting before I take a break to have my baby. I treated them plus made them work a little harder than normal and we did THREE fairly time consuming cards mainly cos I wont see them for a few months. The first card was the one Kirsty showed first as part of her presentation. I loved this instantly as anyone who knows me knows I LOVE PINK!!!! And.....I love the Elements of Style stamp set which is perfect for this technique The butterfly card she made was my absolute favourite. The ladies didnt make this one but I demonstrated it for them. Kirsty has a great little tutorial on her blog you can check out to make this too. I CASED a couple of other examples for them to make. The sail boat one was here. They always want masculine card ideas. We did this one as a Father's Day card as I wont see them until after Father's Day now and the beautiful Manhattan flower card was one of Frenchies here. Frenchie also has a great video tutorial for her card. Some tips if you decide to try this technique, I used White King regular bleach in my aqua painter (label your aqua painter as bleach and dont use it for anything else). I tried the lemon scented one but it didnt work as well. Also, if you are not going to use your aqua painter for a while empty it out and use fresh bleach each time you use it to maximise the effect. Always try on scrap paper first, each colour of cardstock bleaches differently so try several colours to see which bleaches the most vibrant.

Stamp Club #4 - Double Embossing

This technique has popped up a lot lately and I have seen it called 'Embossed Embossing' too. This is the technique my Stamp Club ladies did in May - yes I know took me a long time to post... Anyway I sought inspiration from my lovely Secret Sister from last year, Jane Norrish. Jane made a beautiful example that I couldn't resist to CASE. My ladies loved this example also. The first card uses the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and the second one uses the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. For the first card we used Versamark ink and black embossing powder whereas on the second one (inspired by this card) we used the Versamarker and clear powder to show the two different options for this technique....

What a great way to spend the long weekend here crafting and creating. UStamp is having a FREE event this weekend. A lot of the talented designers have put together various projects for all of us to download. I fell in love with Lorri Heiling's project as soon as I saw it and I knew the perfect opportunity to use it. Two of my friends have recently moved into new places they bought and I thought these would make lovely housewarming cards.... Lots of punches used here plus my Little Leaves Sizzlit for the Big Shot. Baby Shower fun....

On the weekend we had my baby shower and what a great day it was. It has taken me a couple of days to recover but it was so worth it. You may recall the invitations I made for the event, well in keeping with the theme I made the baby shower favors, the prizes, a banner and I am yet to do the thank you cards.... (now you know why I was so exhausted). Don't worry I had help....
My gorgeous Mum did all the food and my BFF organised all the games, we had a great day but it went so fast. Thanks also go to Jo for taking pics for me on the day.
The banner was made using the Pennant Die, the prizes made using the the Milk Carton Die and the favors made using the *NEW* Petal Cone Die (coming in the September Catalogue). I also used the Button Embosslit on all projects (love this cute little die). The prizes contained two Lindt Balls and the favors had a few Favourites Chocolates in them.
I was particulary happy with the cake and how it turned out. I took one of the invites to Oakleigh Cakes (best cake shop eva) and we drew up a sketch of what I wanted etc.. but you never really know how it will look til you see it, you just have to hope that they are on the same wave length as you are I guess......well check it out!!! They matched the colour perfectly. TOTALLY FAB HEY! And you should have tasted it...OMG!!! Thank you to everyone for my lovely presents, our little boy is gonna be the best dressed little bub :)

Accordion Album

Recently one of my friends from work (who is also in my Stamp Club) celebrated her 40th Birthday. I wanted to make her something special and I remembered that she mentioned earlier in the year that she wanted to learn how to make an Accordion Album like in the Current Stampin' Up! Catalogue and Idea Book on p.115. I thought I would try one out and make one for her instead. So I asked her what her favourite DSP was and away I went to work. I had lots of fun creating this and found Kylie O'Brien's tutorial on her blog very helpful. Colours used include Concord Crush, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and of course the Lap of Luxury DSP (her favourite). I also used some Big Shot products, cant really make much these days with using my Big Shot, I love it so much. I used the emblosslit buttons, the scallop envelope die, the beautiful wings bigz die, various embossing folders, top note bigz die, blossom party bigz die, scallop square punch, photo corner punch, itty bitty punches, and my letters sizzlits. Stamp Club Projects (Early May)

This month's project was a HUGE HIT! My stamp club ladies are still talking about this session. At the start of the year I took a wish list of what they would like to do during the year and a OSW (one sheet wonder) was one of the topics so I went to work and created this collection. I must direct you to Clare Daly's page as she has a great FREE tutorial for this project. I didnt have the stamp set that she used so I improvised and used Fifth Avenue Floral and used Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Rose Red for the colour combo. I must admit I was really happy with how these turned out. The sheet actually would make approx. 8 cards but we made only 4 on the day. The technique was crayon resist. This technique is lots of fun. All you need is a A4 sheet of glossy white card and a cheap white crayon (crayola) a Stazon ink pad, some ink pads and some sponges. The first thing you do is stamp your images at random all over your glossy white card in Stazon ink trying not to leave too many blank spaces, then outline parts of your image with your white crayon. Next you sponge various colours over your stamped images then buff the whole cardstock with some paper towel to take off any ink from the crayon, this will make your outlines really 'POP'. Then simply cut up accordingly and assemble on your cards.

Stamp Club Projects (April)

I know you are looking at the title and thinking 'April'? - it's nearly June! I have been slack in posting these (I have two for May to post too) mainly because there has just been so much going on the last couple of months but here they are....
In April we had a 'Punch Art' theme and although these cards were time consuming my stamp club ladies loved them. I sought ideas online for all of these cards on various sites, sorry can't remember where they all came from. I made these to show the versatility of not only the Build-a-Cupcake Punch but the matching Create a Cupcake stamp set too. Both of these are available in the current Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. They each made these three cards but then I made two more as further ideas to show as samples. Thanks for looking.

Convention Swaps

Last week I attended the annual Stampin' Up! Convention in Melbourne. I had an absolute ball and even though I have been a demonstrator for four years now I still find so much new to learn each year. It's a great opportunity to catch up with friends that I only see once a year or so plus 'swap' our creations and buy special company merchandise. We received some awesome stamp sets (sorry cant reveal until next month), made some cute projects with them and got some sneak peeks as to what is on its way later in the year - you will LOVE it all! I prepared two swaps this year. I made some special swaps for the ESAD dinner I went to and made another 50 or so of another style using the cupcake punch and stamp set from the Autum/Winter Mini Catalogue. My ESAD swaps had a baby theme cos I am kinda baby crazy at the moment. I made a collection of Baby Card Candy in four subltes colours - Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. Please dont ask me how long it took to make them - I lost count of the hours and hours way before I finished. I hope the recipients will use them to make cute cards though - all the pieces are stuck to a sheet of acetate so they can be pulled off easily. I got the idea from this project. My card swap was inspired by this one but since I am blue crazy at the moment I made them all in Baja Breeze. I will post some more pics tomorrow of all the swaps I received back plus some of the goodies I bought.

Inkspirations4U Project

This week my creation was featured on Inkspirations4U. It is the first time I have designed for this group and I have enjoyed getting to know the girls on this site. It's a great site that you can subscribe to that runs for a period of a few weeks where you can get lots of inspiration with talented designers sharing their projects centered around many themes. Madeline Morcelo runs the site and shares lots of projects and videos to inspire you daily. One of the themes for this round was Father's Day and I decided to go with this choice mainly to challenge myself as I always find male cards and themes very difficult. This is what I came up with - it is a desk set for a dad which includes a 'toolbox' holding a business card holder with calendar and a notebook & pen. I got the inspiration for this set from my dad as he is a 'chippy' otherwise known as a builder. I used my Big Shot for the letters. I enjoyed getting this Totally Tool set out as I havent used it much and the Woodland Walk DSP worked perfectly for this project. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Lastly, I participated in a one-off swap over Easter and Kerri Donsky was my Secret Sister. I made her a monogram letter set with my fav DSP plus a little box of her fav chocies and matching card. I sent her some items on her wish list which included some embellishments such as ribbon and jewels. The card uses the Strength & Hope stamp set which is a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. $2 from the sale of every set goes to the foundation. The 'K' comes from the Lovely Letters stamp set, one of my favourites. I hope Kerri has been able to make use of her stationery set.

Secret Sister - Final Month

Last month was the reveal for my secret sister but I think she had worked it out by then. I tried once again to incorporate some of her favourites again but also to use some of the new products. The first card I sent was made using her favourite stamp set Elements of Style and in her favourite colour but I had been dying to try out the new beveled window panes - what do you think? I used the dry embossing technique on this card. As the final month incorporated Easter, I decided to include some goodies for her daugheters too. Apparently they were destroyed fairly quickly - LOL. For this months creation I decided to make a desk set as I love these and used my favourite DSP - Elegant Soiree. The base is a pull out drawer which held some goodies for Sonia and then the top holder was made using two fancy favor boxes together also holding some more goodies. Her card was made using the top note die and the lattice embossing folder. Sonia mentioned that one of her interests was patchwork so I created this card with this in mind. Hope you have enjoyed seeing this collection of 3 months work as I know Sonia loved receiving them.

Secret Sister - Month 2

This month's task was to create something a little extra as it was Sonia's daughter's birthday so I got to work on creating two little packages, one for Sonia and one for little Ava. Ava's was lots of fun as I love creating anything PINK and 'girly' and Sonia's gift focused on another of her fav colours - Not Quite Navy, so the gorgeous Blueberry Crisp DSP was perfect for this collection. For Ava's gift I used the new Swet Stitches DSP from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue and made a top note holder for some cute little pens and used an old build-a-brad container and decorated it to hold some lollies. Her card is an easel card using the Scallop Circle die and the letters for the Big Shot. I finished it off with some of the new Pompom Trim. Sonia's gift included a little gift bag holding one of her wish list items, the Manhattan Embossing Folder, and I decorated an old brad container and filled it with a huge sample of all the brads and buttons in our range. I made another punch art card using the owl punch again and a cute little mini album made from the mini square envelopes much like the carousel purse I made some years ago. Secret Sister now revealed - Month 1

I have been participating in another round of Secret Sister this year and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Each month you send some cards and a gift to your secret sister (she does not know who you are) and someone else does the same for you. This round my Secret Sister was Sonia Garbutt and I had lots of fun creating projects to suit her interests, stamp sets and colour favourites. Here is what I created for the first month. Sonia said she liked Rich Razzleberry and the stamp set Elements of Style so off to work I went. With the gift for the first month I wanted to give her a clue of who I was and said I loved stationery. I made a little slider box using the top note die and decorated it with a flower made using the owl punch. I filled it with various stationery items and I was very grateful that Officeworks had 'Rich Razzleberry' items to fill it with. These included a pen, ruler, staples and stapler and a cute little post-it pad. The gift also included a pack of card candy and a little Lindt (these are her fav chocies) gift box using the large fancy flower punch. I had wanted to try one of these boxes for a while, you can too here. The cards were to satisfy Sonia's like for colour and stamp set. I love punch art too so that was another clue for her with the tulip card. As the first month was in February, this little package included a Valentine gift (a project I got from an earlier UStamp) It contains a heart chocolate inside. I will post the next couple of months worth soon.

Fundraiser Fun

On Friday night we had our Fundraiser Event for the Flood victims of Charlton in North Victoria. The night was a huge success and all that attended (over 20 people) had a really great night making projects, winning raffles, door prizes and eating yummy food. Here are two of the four projects that we did on the night. I will try and get pics of the others for you... I designed a fancy favour box and decorated it using one of the owl punch flowers (some of the guests had requested this technique earlier and wanted to learn how to make this cute little flower) and also a Mother's Day card using the Strength and Hope stamp set. I am very happy to report that we raised over $1400 on the night thanks to all that supported our cause and a big thank you to Denise, Gail, Chris and Nicky for their assistance on the night - we were a great team! The fancy favor box was made using Marina Mist and Night of Navy. The Mother's Day card was made using Pink Pirouette and Concord Crush with the new Tulips emobssing folder.

Baby Shower Invites

Yes here we go again.....but this time it's my turn! Thanks to my Mum, SIL and BFF, all 40 of my baby shower invites are done. We spent most of the day today in 'production mode'. I guess you can figure out what I am having.....LOL! I CASED the idea from this card. I have used Baja Breeze (I soooooo love this colour) and Very Vanilla combined with the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper. Lots and lots of Big Shot on this card, the Clear Scallop Square, Top Note, Ovals, Button Embosslit and lots of punches, the 1/2", 1" & 1-3/8 Circle punches, Scallop Trim border, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Decorative Label, and of course some embellishments using the pearls and the chantilly lace. Something different...

Kids cards are always a challenge for me, better improve on this since there will be many many kids parties in the years to come.... Anyway, I have wanted to make something like this for ages with the punches. I sought inspiration from this card. I have used Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and combined it with the Birthday Party Rub-ons and the Short and Sweet and the Party Heart stamp sets. Of course many many punches have been used also, including; scallop circle, all the circle punches, small oval, plus a couple of retired ones. I made this for my nephew who is turning 2. I hope he likes it :)

Easter Bunny Swap

I recently participated in a swap organised on a group I belong to for Stampin' Up! Demo's. I sent off my package last week (will post some pics when she receives it) but mine arrived today from Juliette Chapman. She sent some really cute projects around the Easter theme and I received some great gifts including a stamp set, some dimensionals and a snail refill. The best part - a Lindt Gold Bunny - I luurrrrve these :) Juliette also made me a really cute twisted easel card, have been wanting to make one of these for ages, now will definitely make one, they look so easy but really effective. Here is a project from the latest UStamp with Dawn & Friends called Big Shot Brilliance.....projects to DIE for!. I have not had as much time as I would like this round to make many of the projects but when I saw this I just had to make time. It is such a gorgeous set and the colours are fab! The stamp set is called Strength & Hope (set of 4) and is available in the New Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue (wood - $35.95, clear - $28.95) with $2 from the sale of each set going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Plus I love butterflies so I love this set even more and I am still a PINK girl afterall.....

This project comes from the very talented Ilina Crouse. It uses the Fancy Favor die for the Big Shot as well as the Elegant Lines embossing folder. You are probably thinking to yourself - 3 posts in one day!!! Is she drinking too much coffee or something??? LOL No, it's none of that, it's just that now Paperific is here I can actually breathe a little better now that all the prep has been done and I have some more spare time again. Here are the two display posters that I put together for the show. The first one uses the new Sew Suite collection of products - sooooo cute and heaps of really gorgeous ideas for this set. I will have more pics of things made with this collection next week - they are on display at the show and I have not photographed them yet. The second poster uses the Just Believe stamp set and the Elegant Soiree DSP. I think these two go so well together. Baby Shower time again....

One of my girlfriends at work (Hi Jess!) held her baby shower on the weekend and I kindly offered to make her baby shower favors and prizes for the games we played. Jess does not know what she is having so I had to keep it neutral so once again I went with the So Saffron and Certainly Celery colours similar to what I did for an earlier baby shower here for my SIL. Here I have included a picture of the baby shower card I made plus one of the favors and the milk carton prize filled with little lollies. I have used the Baby Bundle stamp set and matching wheel. The card is made similar to a set of invites I made a couple of years ago here and the favor uses the pillow box die and the prize uses the milk carton die both using the Big Shot.

Today I have for you a project that was inspired by one on Inkspirations 4U Spring/Easter. This is the first time I have joined this group and there are some amazing projects on there. I have some more to come soon. You would never have guessed that these boxes were both made from the Big Shot Milk Carton Die - YEP!!! I had a ball making these and am really happy with how they turned out. I have used the stamp set Clearly for You which is in the soon-to-be-released Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. There are some really gorgeous new products in the new mini and I can't wait to show you more in the coming weeks. I have always felt that the milk carton die was a little small but these boxes really innovate the die and create loads more space for various treats. Colours on the bigger box include Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso and Whisper White. I have used a techinque on the panels called 'emboss resist'. On the smaller box I have used Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and some Elegant Soiree DSP. The punches used include; scallop oval, large scallop and the scallop trim border (love this punch). I have decorated the top with a subtles button and some cut butterflies. All stamped images on both boxes come from the same stamp set Clearly for You.

You will be now after looking at all these cute little cupcakes.........Here is your first sneak peek at some of the new products in the soon to be released Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. I have made a collection of easel cards using the Subtles colour family, the new Create-a-Cupcake stamp set with matching punch and the new Decorative Label punch. This is such a fun set to play with, with so many options. Other products include the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch and elegant lines embossing folder, the subtles pattern DSP, modern label punch and word window punch, rhinestones and scallop trim border punch. I have also used the new big shot die Scallop Squares Duo (the smaller of the scallops) on the perfect plum card. All three card bases were made from one 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.

Birthday gift

My awesome upline Gail celebrated her birthday today and I took the opportunity to make her something. I hope she likes it. I have made a tea box copied from Andrea Walford's project and a card copied from Becky Roberts latest tutorial. I am so in love with the Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper and have been making lots of projects using it (more to come later) so thought it was a good choice for this combo. On the card I have used the Friends 24-7 stamp set along with the gorgeous butterflies embosslit. The sentiment comes from a new stamp set soon to be released called Create-a-cupcake (more on that later on). The top of the tea box has a flower made from the 2-step owl punch. Wedding card

I am off to a wedding and thought I had better make the card. I have been wanting to use the Presto Patterns DSP for ages and thought this would be the perfect opportunity. This card is a shameless CASE from this one here. The wedding invites were close to Marina Mist so thought it would be a good option plus I like the monochromatic look. The 'congratulations' comes from the Well Scripted stamp set and the medallion comes from Artisitic Etchings stamp set. I have used some Whisper White satin ribbon and finished it off with a button from the subtles collection......and lots of sponging....you should see my fingers now LOL. Long time, no post......

Let me say that it's not through lack of creativity that's for sure! I have been busy making secret sister gifts (which I can't post here just yet for fear she may find me out - LOL!) plus prepping for a fundraiser for the flood victims at the end of the month, PLUS preparing for the upcoming Paperific Show in April which will showcase all the new fabulous things in the upcoming Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue - you are gonna LOVE it! More of that in a later post. But...........what I can post here is what I received from my Secret Sister for February. My package arrived today and I can't wait to show you - I love it, everything about it. First are the two cards I received earlier, one using my favourite stamp set Just Believe and the other using my favourite punch, ornament punch.

Then today I received my February gift which was totally what I wanted. I had requested some more ideas for scrapping as I don't do much of that but with a new baby on the way I am sure that will change....anyway my Secret Sister could not have got it more spot on, you see during the week I had my 20 week scan and these are the colours we were thinking for the nursery (can you guess what it is???) plus she used my favourite stamp set again, oh I just love it! It is a star book scrap album - totally kewl! Thanks secret sister, cant wait to find out who you are.

Faux Silk with my Stamp Club

Here is what my stamp club ladies will be making next Sunday at our next club meeting. I used this card as my inspiration. It is a technique using tissue paper to create a faux silk look. I was actually pretty happy with how this turned out. I stamped it with Black Stazon and then coloured it in with ink and blender pens. I have used the Friends 24-7 stamp set with a sentiment from Oval All and the Very Vintage wheel. I have topped it off with a flower brad and some taffeta ribbon. The centre image has been paper pierced around the edges and I used the scallop trim border punch along the bottom. Colours used are Perfect Plum, Old Olive & Confetti White. A gift for a friend

I have made one of these gorgeous little card holders before but decided to compliment it this time with two other items. All these projects are tutorials from other talented demonstrators which I will link to shortly. I was also reluctant to post this collection as it uses retired papers etc... Firstly I made the card holder which is a tutorial I purchased from the very creative Andrea Walford. You can see the tutorial here. Andrea puts together very detailed tutorials that are excellent and easy to follow. The only thing I changed was the clear sleeves to hold the cards as ours are a little larger, all I did was trim the tops off about a 1-2cm to fit in the holder and stuck them together using sticky strip. The next item was a little desk calendar with drawer. Inside the drawer is a post-it-note pad I found at Officeworks with a little butterfly on it which was perfect. The calendar was designed by the talented Nicole Stalker. You can see her video tutorial here. Finally I modified a chocolate block holder designed by Claire Daly, I made it larger to fit the bigger block. She has a free tutorial here. I have used a stamp set called Simple Friendship (one of my favs, unfortunately not available in Australia) and the retired Bella Bleu DSP. I have used, however, some of the new crochet ribbon on the choc block holder. I hope Denise likes her little gift.

I have been busy seeing the new year in on the latest UStamp (started last night) with one of the latest fabulous projects. This was designed by Kristen Conant. It was initially designed as a Vintage Box with matching cards but I decided to change the theme and make it a baby one for thank-you's. I have used the Nursery Suite Specialty Papers and the Note Cards ($9.50 for 20 cards with matching envelopes, card measures 8.9cm x 12.7cm). You can still join UStamp for only $US24.98. It runs for 3 weeks with a couple of projects with full instructions posted everyday. It's so much fun. Thanks for looking.

2010 Christmas Cards

Now that I think most have received them I can now post these up. This year I used the ornament punch again but did something totally different. Here is my card from last year where I did an easel card. This year I decided to use some of our new products including the new shimmer paints and the new lattice embossing folder. I have also used some of the new wide striped grosgrain ribbon, the new scallop trim border punch and the new antique brads. This year's card was inspired by this one here using the 'inlaid technique' I think it's called. Not sure if you can tell from the pic but I have used the shimmer paints to create a glittered background (oh gotta luv glitter at Christmas time hey). To create this glitter look, you mix a couple of drops of the shimmer paint (I used the champagne one on the this card) with some Isocol rubbing alcohol (you can find this green bottle in the medical section in the supermarket) in a mist bottle or spray bottle (I get mine from Howards Storage World or you could use an old Stampin' Mist bottle) then shake it up and spray on to your cardstock and let it dry (doesn't take long).

Desk Set

This project has come from the enormously talented Jenny Moors. I purchased the tutorial from her and made one as per her colour choice and loved it so much I made another one in a different colour scheme for a close friend who loved it! I will definitely be making more of these. It contains a set of three cards with matching envelopes. Visit her blog for plenty of inspiration. Her tutorials are listed down the righthand side of her blog and are very afordable and easy to follow.

Melbourne Regional Conference

Shame on me for taking so long to post but life has continued to be VERY crazy. Not long now until I finish work - YAY!!! Then you can expect to see a lot more on here - I PROMISE! Ok warning - this is a LONG post, sorry, trying to make up for lost time.

What I have for you today are the swaps I made for the recent regional conference in Melbourne plus what I received back from others when I swapped. This year for the first time instead of making 60 odd swaps all the same, I decided to break up the boredom and do three different designs. First was an ice cream cone using the new lattice embossing folder from the upcoming Mini Catalogue.
Next was a cute little Christmas wreath door made using the Welcome Christmas stamp set embellished with some Rich Razzleberry Ribbon and an antique brad for the handle.

and finally, my favourite, some little easel desk top calendars. You see I am a HUGE cup cake fan, just scan back through the posts to see more... so I thought this was a great idea.I purchase my little calendars from here. I have used the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp and stamped onto DSP then cut out, used my tombo adhesive glue and adhered them to some whisper white card to give them some strength, decorated with some ribbon and antique brads (luv these) and assembled onto the easel frame. Finally I decorated with some rhinestones or pearls.

Lastly here are the gorgeous swaps that I received back from everyone I swapped with.

It's that time of year again....

Yes another group of girls have now graduated and once again my house (the RED house at school) made some parting gifts for the year 12's in our house. (You can click here to see what we made last year) This year we made little boxes using the Top Note Die and made a little gift card to go inside sticking with the owl theme. Inside the card was a little quote (each girl had their own quote particular to them and their personality). The girls were thrilled with their little gift and I hope they treasure them for years to come. Each graduating box came with its own little tassle (in red of course), the card uses the owl from Fox and Friends and the sentiment is the Happy Grad Set. The graduating hat on the owl is stamped and cut out from the Great Grads set. Click here to see instructions to make the box. Black Magic

I can't believe how long it has taken me to post something new. Not that I want to make excuses but I have been flat out with my students preparing for exams, writing reports (who would be a teacher huh!) oh and am I allowed to have a holiday in there somewhere! Anyway I had to get my butt organised and work out what to do at stamp club on the weekend and this is what I came up with. It is a technique called black magic. Each month my stamp clubees (is this even a word - LOL) learn a new technique and make some cards using that technique. I found an idea for the tree card on SCS and then I wanted to use some of my new stamps for the other card and this is what I came up with. The swirl is from the gorgeous new set called Elements of Style. I always like to find ways to use my non-Christmas themed stamps for Christmas cards in a way they were not intended. The tree also comes from a non-christmas set called Lovely as a Tree. Anyway once I stamped the swirl on the card I decided to leave it as is and not colour it like the tree - I think the classic look looks just as effective. I am so in love with the new ribbon and the new sentiment set Curly Cute. Thanks for looking. Did you notice my new watermark?

NEW Colours, NEW punches, NEW embellishments.....

What more could a girl want right? It was the best day EVER yesterday!!! All my new goodies arrived. Let me confess.....I am in love with Cherry Cobbler! It is the most beautiful red I have ever worked with. Here are some of the projects for my New Catalogue Launch this weekend. I have used everything NEW on the card, the only thing not new is the Very Vanilla Cardstock. Colours used are; Cherry Cobbler (of course), Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. I have used the new Scallop trim border punch, the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, the new stamp set Contempo Christmas, the new 1/8" Early Espresso Ribbon, some new Jolly Holiday DSP and lastly but most importantly some NEW BLING!!! The little birdhouse is made using the new Mini Milk Carton die and the Woodgrain background stamp. How cute is the Two-step Owl Punch? Stay tuned for more cute projects....

New Post-it-note Holder

With the new catalogue comes the task of making all new samples with all the fabulous new products. So here is a taste of what I have been up to....this is a newer version of a post-it-note holder I made about a year ago here. This one uses the Greenhouse Gala DSP and the Friends Never Fade Stamp set. You may also notice a new punch - it's called the Modern Label punch. I have assembled some build-a-brads using some of the DSP and adhered them to some big shot flowers from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlit. Baby Bundle

Just when you thought I was all baby'd out after the baby shower a couple of weeks ago, I come out with this LOL. I found the idea here from the wonderfully creative Jackie Topa. Well the fact is two of my friends are very close to delivery and one has just had a little girl, so I am surrounded by babies and preggy tummies :) So of course I have to be prepared and make the cards to give them with their presents. I have used a new stamp set from the new catty called Baby Bundle. This is the cutest little set, well it's not really little as it comes with 16 stamps and is only $49.95 in wood mount or $39.95 in clear mount. I will make a boy one of these too to cover my bases for the babies still to come. Hopefully it will be my turn one day..... Thanks for looking.....

Here is a sneak peek at what I will be demonstrating tomorrow at the Paperific Show. They are roses made out of the ornament punch attached to little boxes that would hold several cards and envelopes or a gift for someone special. Ok I know I said I was exhausted last night but I really mean it tonight. I have just got home from the baby shower and all was a HUGE success. Mum-to-be Penny was thrilled and totally blown away by the whole day. I am back to show you some pics of the prizes and the baby shower favours. I made 8 Mini Milk Carton boxes (idea found here) and decorated them for prizes and I made 26 Baby Shower favours (made some of these before, click here) for everyone to take home plus one BIG one for Penny to keep. Each Mini Milk Carton had a couple of Lindt Balls in them and the Baby Carriages each had a Freddo frog inside a baby sock in them. I have used a lot of new things which will be available from the 1st September in the NEW CATALOGUE. Baby Shower Card

I am totally exhausted!!! Have spent all day finalising preparations for the Baby Shower tomorrow but I thought I would finish off with the baby shower card. Totally cased this card but feel terrible because I cant find the original - when I find it again I will link it here. I havent made a square card for like ages and had to dig up my square envelopes :) This card uses some retired DSP as well as some current (not for too much longer though) plus I have used the new stamp set Baby Bundle and the new Butterfly Embosslit (sooooooooo gorgeous) and the new Vintage Embossing Folder. The ribbon is from the ribbon promo earlier in the year plus a button that has also retired :( Am gonna miss some of these colours but am totally in love with the new colour reno - you are all gonna love it too. Cant wait to get my colour bundle and make some new projects with all the new colours. I have also used the Scallop Envelope Die.

Baby Shower Cake

This is something I have been working on for a while, couldnt face it all in one sitting. I have just finished it, there is nothing like 'creating' on a Saturday night (ok I have no life alright, well I have a footy obsessed husband actually). This is for my SIL for her baby shower next weekend. I have also made a heap of baby shower favours but I will post them next week. Clearly we don't know what she is having hence all the yellow and green (oops I mean Certainly Celery and So Saffron hehehe) but it was a great opportunity to use all that ribbon I accumulated from the ribbon promotion earlier in the year. I have used the Fox & Friends stamp set plus the new Baby Tees Wheel. I decided to make it a rubber ducky theme cos it worked well with the colour scheme. I have stuffed it with bibs, socks etc.. I took inspiration from this one. Plus the bonus was with all the pics I took I decided to have a play with the Picasa Collage feature - so much fun :) It is super easy, might see what else I can do.....

I am going to offer some 'Blog Candy' as a little treat for a change. If you can guess how many nappies are in this cake, you will win a prize. Retiring Colours

Thought I would challenge myself tonight and use colours I don't normally use (I had not even opened the pack of cardstock for some of these colours LOL!) Since many colours are retiring I thought I would try a project using some of them. Colours used include Brilliant Blue, Taken with Teal (both retiring colours) and Tempting Turquoise. The DSP is from the Pink Flamingo Pack (50% off down to $8.48) and the verse is from Curvy Verses. This card also incorporates the Baby Wipe technique - my Stamp Club will be doing this technique on Sunday. You may also notice something NEW! This was so much fun to make. I must thank Crafty Cow for her awesome tutorial which made it so easy. Can you believe it is all made from punches! I guess you are wondering why Elvis? Well this guy I made the card for is an absolute Elvis mad crazy fan and he is a great guitarist. He plays his stuff often and I swear you would think it's the King himself! So I couldnt resist having a go at this - as we all know man cards are difficult to come up with at the best of times. Sorry I havent posted much for a while, I have had a lot going on recently, all will be revealed shortly. Mostly I have been preparing for my SIL's baby shower. Will show you all these cute projects in a couple of weeks. Plus I have been preparing for the upcoming Paperific Show. Another Baby Shower....

This time for my other SIL Penny. Been working on these (nearly 30 of them) for a couple of days with some little helpers in my SIL Nicole and her husband Shane can you believe it - he loved it. I got this idea from one of the swaps I received at Convention, sorry cant remember who it was but the one I got was pretty pink, cant do pink ones for this shower as we dont know what sex the baby is yet so thought yellow and green would be the way to go or should I say So Saffron and Old Olive/Certainly Celery. These are made using the Scallop Circle Bigz Die. Folding the cardstock first you line it up just inside the edge of the scallops (i left four scallops outside the fold line) and run it through the BIG SHOT. I have then cut several of the same die with DSP and cut them in half and stuck to the bottom half of the carousel. I have used my circle punches for the wheels with some silver brads and then the Eyelet border punch for the trim. I have used the two oval punches for the handles and then tied some 1/4" Grosgrain for the bow. As there is not much room inside the invitation I created a simple little little fold so the invite opens up as you open the card - nift hey! Thanks for looking. My 'to-do list' has sort of been getting shorter but I was distracted by all the awesome projects over at UStamp and I couldnt resist having a go at one of the projects posted today. It's a really cute little double pocket bag with a topper and matching card. This creation came from Tracey Old from New Zealand. I love this little gift set. I have used the Tea Party Designer Series Paper and some So Saffron Cardstock. The stamp set is Dreams Du Jour and the ribbon is some left over from the ribbon promotion. I have used some of the filligree brads and some embroidery thread to keep it together. The card fits inside plus I put some mini kit kats in too. This would make a lovely little gift. Wall/Door Hanging

I have been meaning to do this for a while now (one more thing I can tick off my 'to do list') and finally finished it. This is a door hanging for the daughter of some friends of ours. I made some last year for my two nieces in America. Click here to see the first two I did. When they had their second child, many friends and family gave name things etc. for the new baby but the older child didnt have anything like it for her so I promised I would make one - finally have. I have used the scallop circle bigz die through the BIG SHOT and cut scallops in Sage Shadow - will really miss this gorgeous colour. This is the colour of her room. I have then used my Circle Scissor Plus to cut two layers of circles with some of the Windsor Knot DSP and some Whisper White. I sponged the edges of the scallop circle and the patterned paper although it is hard to see in these pics. Lastly I have used some dazzling diamonds on the letters and images. Please note that with the new catalogue comes a 'Colour Renovation' and with this we will see some of our colours retire for good. Some stock is already starting to run out so please dont delay in ordering your favourite colours before they sell out.

We went to a 40th Birthday on Sunday and I always find male cards a real challenge but this time I took some inspiration from here and created the 40th card. One step, two step.....

I have used Cheep Talk on this card and used my Marvelous Markers on the branch and the bird to get the different colours on the one stamp. Colours used include Not Quite Navy, Old Olive and Whisper White. 2-step stamping is super easy but you cant do it without a stamp-a-ma-jig (no this is not what I called it, it is actually what it is called). This tool was one of the very first things I bought many years ago and I simply cannot live without it. 2-step stamping involves the layering of stamps to create combined images and multicoloured images. Check back here over the coming days and I will feature some more of these fabulous sets exclusive to Stampin' Up!

Last UStamp I missed this day as I was at Convention but not this time. My project is a Tea Light Gift Box using the Tea Party Designer Series Papers. I have made a little scallop flower using a technique I learnt at Convention as a decoration for the top. The box is held together with a magnetic snap. It holds 3 tea lights plus a box of long matchsticks. But you could change it up and put whatever you like in it. Designer Series Papers on special this week.....

Here are some projects made using the Haiku Designer Series Papers which are reduced from $16.95 down to only $10.17, that's 40% off and equates to less than 85c per sheet! This paper is really pretty for Autumn projects. Here I have made a card using the Wet Watercolour Crayon technique (using Rich Regals here) using the Inspired by Nature stamp set and Lovely Labels. I have used some of the Haiku DSP in the background. I am happy with how this turned as this is the first time I have made a card using this technique. The little box is made using the Scallop Envelope Die for the Big Shot (you really need this awesome machine). It is made using two of the scallop envelopes with the bottom flap cut down to 1/2" and then stuck together. I have adhered a strip of the Haiku DSP around the middle and held the flap down using a build-a-brad. These are so much fun to use. You will need the 1/2"Circle Punch for use with these cute little brads. You can punch out the circle from DSP or you can stamp an image and punch that out instead. I just love these so much because you can tailor brads to every project you make. The brad is made using the reverse of the DSP and then some Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon tied around to finish it off. This little box will fit some little Lindt square chocolates or some matching love notes and envelopes. These are the projects that my Stamp Club ladies will make this month. Final Secret Sister Gift Revealed.....

Well finally here it is - this months gift for Jane and the final gift for the current Secret Sister Round. You may recognise some of the projects which I showcased earlier. I have included 3 cards, a decorated pencil tin, a scallop envelope box with a pack of build-a-brads and some Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain ribbon inside cos don't forget Jane LOVES embellishments. I also made a cupcake box and a tea light candle box. As you can see I stuck with the Cottage Wall DSP theme throughout. I also included a copy of Masterchef winnner Julie Goodwin's cookbook as Jane loves cooking too. I have to say that delivering this last gift in person was awesome as was the opportunity to meet Jane face-to-face. She was so over the moon with everything I sent her and kept saying how she felt so spoilt this round and how she signed up thinking this would be her last - but not now, she wants to do another one :)

Second Secret Sister Gift....

Here is what I sent to my Secret Sister for April. I was continuing to give her some clues about who I was and I made this to hint how much I love PINK!!! Jane's profile said she loved chocolate with nuts so I made her a chocolate block cover for a block of Cadbury's with Hazelnuts, I hope she liked it. The DSP in the background with the blue flowers on it is from the Washington Apple pack and the big blue flower is from the Blooms Die Cuts set. Continuing on with the embellishments she likes, this time a decorated a pack of vintage brads and also included some clips etc.. Finally all this had to have a matching card so continuing on featuring products from the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue, I used the gorgeous new Medallion stamp with some pearls from the pretties kit (love this kit, it's just got sooooo much cute stuff in it) finished off with some ribbon and a button. The little butterfly is one of the new 'a la carte' stamps in the new mini. I was really happy with the colour combination of the Melon Mambo and Bashful Blue when I completed this collection. Thanks for looking again. The final months gift will be revealed tomorrow :)

First Secret Sister Gift...

I thought I had better take some time to explain a little for those that may be unaware how this Secret Sister thing works. Basically I was allocated another Australian Demonstrator who is a member on our ESAD (Extremely Special Aussie Demos) site. She didnt know who I was and it was up to me to keep it that way until the last month. I was allocated to a different demo and she would do the same for me. The swap goes for 3 months. Each month we send out two cards plus a gift at the end of each month, usually things we have made and perhpas incorporating things on their profile. When we start we are given a profile of our secret sister so we know her likes and dislikes, hobbies, interests etc... so we can structure our cards and gifts to their tastes or requests. As this was my first time I was very nervous and did not know what to do or what to expect. Here is what I sent to Jane at the end of the first month. In her profile she said she likes Sudoku puzzles (me too) chocolate and cooking so I made these things a feature over the 3 months. In the first month I wanted to make things using the new items in the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. I just love the autumn papers and colours. I recreated a top note box (click here for the tutorial) that I made for the earlier ESAD Blog Hop and placed some chocies (for Easter), and some embellishments (Jane likes these too) inside such as buttons, grommets and brads. I made a matching card with the new stamp set Autumn Days and covered a Sudoku book and decorated it with some rub-ons and a pen. I believe she really enjoyed it. Secret Sister Revealed...

Ok now that my Secret Sister has received her final gift, I can now show you some of the cards that I made her along the way. I will post some pics of the gifts I sent her over the coming days.

The first card uses the top note die cut once then put through a second time after turning 90 degrees to get this cute little square frame, so luv my BIG SHOT!!! The stamp set is Asian Artistry, a new hostess set from the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. I did case this card from somewhere I think but cant remember where, sorry.

The next card is one I made for ther birthday as it fell (lucky Jane) in the first month of the round. This card uses the same stamp set but a differnt image. I also decorated the inside of this card - a first for me!

The last one uses the Two-step bird punch, cant remember where I found this idea either sorry as I made these so long ago. I have used one of the new Soho Designer Hardware grommets in the centre.

Secret Sister gift almost finalised...

Here is some of the items I am sending off to my secret sister for her final package. I can show you some of it as I will be revealed very soon. This is a 'Build-a-Brad' Box with a belly band and matching card. I have used the Cottage Wall DSP (yes AGAIN!!!) and the Vintage Vogue stamp set with some Whisper White taffeta ribbon and a flower designer brad wrapped around the ribbon. You see my secret sister loves embellishments so I thought this was a great idea, this way she can make her own creative brads. I have included many other items already seen on here for her final box of goodies, cant wait to send it off on its long journey up north. I will post all the pictures next week when she receives her exciting mail.

I love being an SU! Demonstrator and have been for nearly 3 years now

I am a secondary school teacher by day, crafter my nights and weekends (when do I sleep you ask???? Still trying to figure that one out!)

We have no children but hope to one day and we have a kitty called Hanger

Double Act....

I purchased the tutorial for this awesome little tote a while ago but havent got around to making it. Well, once I sat down to make one, I loved it so much I had to make another. The Riding Hood Red and Bella Bleu DSP was the first one I made then the second one I made using the new Simply Scrappin Kit in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. I love these kits so much, they enable putting projects together to be just so simple. I first saw these cute little totes on lovely Leonie's Blog during the Blog Hop last month. I then followed the link to Adela's blog for the tutorial. It is super easy to make, you just print the templates out onto your chosen paper, cut out and assemble - done! All I have to do now is make something to go inside them. I have the blue one on display at the Stitches and Craft show this weekend at Caulfield. Our group of demonstrators have a stand at the show so get along and see the Big Shot in action and lots of other fabulous products.

It's Party Time!!!

You may remember in an earlier post I put together a version of Becky's Cupcake box for a birthday party I was planning for one of my friend's daughters. Well today was the BIG day and Emily was soooooo excited. These are the party favours I made with lollipops inside. Emily and her friends had a great time and they worked so well and were very productive. I have included some pics of what they made, working hard on the projects, and the bithday girl with her cake (cup cake theme of course). Emily had her friends choose a DSP they liked then I pre-cut all the pieces for their boxes so all they had to do was put it all together. Emily also liked the pig I made earlier so we made one of them too. And of course we made a matching card.

I had so much fun making these gorgeous little treats - yes I know they look like something you could eat but they are really made from paper. I found the idea on Patti's blog - she is amazing!!! I punched a heap of flowers from the trio flower punch and stuck them into little polystyrene balls with tiny pins. I then cut the bottoms off them so they would sit flat in the box oh and so the lid would fit on :) The other chocolates are tiny little boxes that I put through the Big Shot (a must have tool) using some of my embosssing folders - soooooo cute :) I cut the swirls freehand, cant you tell??? LOL The best part of this project is it's in my fav colour combo ever - Pink and Choc Chip. Patti has awesome instructions so get on over there and have a go yourself.

Wedding Card

I made this card for one of my colleagues at work as his daughter is getting married this weekend. Here's hoping the rain will clear up before then. I was inspired to make this card after seeing this one. I used one of my embossing folders and ran it through the Big Shot (a must have tool for crafters) for the background and white heart. I embossed the baroque motifs image but it's a little hard to tell. I have used some of the pearls from the pretties kit and a tiny little piece of black grosgrain ribbon for the tie. The sentiment is from the Together Forever stamp set (I used this set for my wedding too). Thanks for looking :)

Cup Cake Box

This cute little box is actually a project from a UStamp earlier in the year but I never got around to making it. I have been planning my friends birthday party today which has a cupcake theme (see earlier post here) and I was reminded of this awesome little project that Dawn created for 'UStamp With Love'. Her project actually had hearts instead of circles but I thought this would be perfect. I just cant stop making projects using the gorgeous Cottage Wall DSP - I think I am on to my 5th pack!!! On the top is a scallop circle punch rosette, been wanting to try one of these for ages - super easy, all you need to do is cut one petal out of the scallop for the first layer then cut two petals out for the second layer etc.. The cupcake is made using a template, I really should have got baking and put a real one in there but having too much fun in my craft room this long weekend to get into the kitchen..... I have been very busy making lots of projects for my Secret Sister (will explain and post these in a couple of weeks, cant risk her finding out who her secret sister is before the end of May). How cute is the Polka Dot Embossing folder??? You seriously cannot live without the Big Shot - I use it on nearly every project I make now. Don't forget I have a special Starter Kit for the Big Shot. You may have noticed that over past few months I have showcased many of the projects that I have made from the UStamp group that I have been a member of. Well.....I am totally stoked as I have been asked to design for the next one. That's not the only exciting news....the theme next month is the BIG SHOT, my favourite tool EVER - you really cannot live without this amazing piece of crafting brilliance. Next month's UStamp will centre around the BIG SHOT and there will be so many fabulous projects with full tutorials and pictures ready for you to recreate any way you like. Masculine cards not my 'forte'

Since masculine cards are not particularly my strong point, I was in desperate need of some inspiration and assistance on what to do for this special occasion at the request of my Mum. So I looked and found this which was so inspiring and I thought 'yes I can recreate this!'' I liked the idea but was looking for a better shape and then found this. I am happy with the end result and Mum is 'over the moon' with this creation. I have used Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel and some Whisper White with some DSP from Urban Oasis. I have used Sincere Salutations for the sentiment tag and Taking Care of Busines for the 'Special' tag tied on with hemp twine both punched with the tag punches and circle punches. Will definitely make more of these...

Stamp Club Projects

Here are the projects we made today for Stamp Club for Mother's Day coming up next month. I taught them the Emerging Colour Technique and used some Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, Always Artichoke and Whisper White. They love using the Big Shot so I incorporated a label from the Lots of Tags set and we made a matching gift box using the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die. We decorated the box with a stamp from Vintage Vogue and Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon. The card uses En Francais in the background before sponging the colours ramdomly. We then inked up the Medallion stamp with Versamark and embossed with clear powder. Finally we brayered over the top with Basic Gray and wiped embossed image clean. Finally we attached a brad to the centre, mounted on two layers of cardstock and tied some Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon round the top. The sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings stamp set. Just Add Ink Challenges

This card combines a few things. First of all, the current JAI sketch challenge plus an earlier colour challenge and finally a technique I wanted to do for my stamp club next weekend called emerging colour. Let me tell you how I did this card. First of all I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and sponged random sections of three colours, More Mustard, Rose Red and Sage Shadow. Next I took the gorgeous new Medallion stamp set from the Mini Catalogue and stamped it in Versamark over the top. I quickly poored over clear embosssing powder and heat set it. Then I inked up my brayer with Sahara Sand and brayered over the top and wiped the excess ink from the embossed image - wha la! So easy but very effective. I enjoyed working with this colour combination too. The tag is from the new Sizzlit 4-pack Dies in the Mini Catalogue. Sentiment comes from the Occasional Greetings stamp set in the main catalogue. Here is a project I put together for the daughter (Hi Emily) of a friend of mine (Hi Fiona). Emily stalks my blog regularly and when I visited them last week for lunch (thanks Fiona for the yummy risotto, you know it's my favourite) as a surprise I took one of my Little Miss Piggy kits for her to make. She totally loved it :) Anyway, when I got there she told me she wanted me to do her birthday party and she had put together a collection of project pictures from my blog that she liked. Well we managed to narrow it down to the stationery box I made quite some time ago that Becky (amazing talent) created. But I wanted to make it a little different, well more fun for a group of teenage girls. Becky did a cupcake version as well but I changed it a little to include lots of yummy decorations for making cupcakes. I was inspired by this theme after I helped Emily make her Cupcake Invites with some of her own materials(picture below). I have used Orchid Opulence for the box and the Cottage Wall DSP with some Rich Razzleberry Ribbon. I made the tag using the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and decorated it with some pink supernova glitter. Thanks for looking :)

Baptism and Birthday Invites

My Sister-in-law asked me recently to make some invitations for her sons upcoming baptism and birthay. I showed her a few samples and this is what she chose. When she told me how many she wanted I said 'no worries but you're helping me'. I gave her all the crappy jobs but she actually loved it and found it very relaxing - tell me something I don't know!! Anyway here they are. This was also my first attempt at blotting out details on pics (so rough, but did the job). I used some of my beautiful Parisian Breeze DSP, gees I really miss this cardstock :( and some Urban Garden DSP. All hand cut and stitched, punched and sponged. A pretty nice way to top off my holidays. She loved them! Thanks for looking.

UStamp Colour Challenge

Have loved this colour combination since I first saw it and had a few ideas in my head about what I would do with it when I got the chance. So between doing the blog hop, playing with my new things and completing over 50 1st birthday/baptism invites for my sister-in-law over the weekend (pics coming) I finally got down to business. I have used quite a few new things from the new Mini Catalogue including the new Melon Mambo :) Love this colour but my favourite is definitely Rich Razzleberry. The feature I wanted to highlight on this card is the new little Buttons #5 sizzlit die. They are soooooo cute. I have also embossed the backgrounds with the Polka-dot embossing folder and combined the buttons with some die cuts from the big catalogue (p.144) and used the five petal flower punch for the leaves. For the stems I have used the new Cottage Garden Stamp set, the butterfly also comes from this cute set. I havent done as many projects from UStamp this round as I have been so busy but this week hopefully will be different! Stay tuned......

Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue ESAD Blog Hop - Box of Tags

What is ESAD you say?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australian (and New Zealand) Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin' UP!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when it's needed.

Here is my contribution to the ESAD Blog Hop. The BIG SHOT is the best thing from the New Mini Catalogue in my mind, i just love it soooooooo much. Possibilities are endless!!!! My favourite die from the new mini is by far the Top Note Bigz Die, it is just so versatile and I have demonstrated just a couple of ideas using the die in these projects. I have used it here to make a little box complete with compartments and a matching card. I have also use the new Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and matching new In Colour Cardstock Rich Razzleberry. The little box is full of various die cuts using the new embosslits, sizzlets etc. including buttons, tags and little leaves. To make the shape on the card I have simply put the Top Note back through after turning it 90 degrees to get the square shape. The pieces it cuts off the Top Note die are also very useful for either cards or scrapbook pages so dont throw them away!

I am so lucky to have such lovely customers and Donna is the perfect example. She arrived today for my Mini Catalogue Launch with these little pressies in hand - how kind is that!!! I love what you have done with the Big Bunny and that Easter Basket is just tooooooooooo cute, will have to make one of those for sure. Thanks again Donna, you always put a BIG smile on my face with your little goodies :) And......... you know what the best thing is........they are PINK, somebody knows me too well :)
