This is another project that I have been wanting to do since Convention. I feel bad because I can't remember who demo'd it but when I work it out I will add it here. This is my inspiration journal. Whenever I come across something that I feel inspires me for a card or scrapbook page whether it be a photo or whatever I will add it in here. My first entry was this which I posted a few weeks ago. I have used Sweet Always Designer Series Paper (punched with the Spiral Punch for the spine) with some elements from the On Board Batch of Blooms and an On Board Art Journal. I have used the Life Definitions Stamp Set with an 'I' from Lovely Letters and a litle pearl from the Pretties Kit and a little flower from the Accents and Elements Flower Fusion Too. I finished it off with some ribbon down the side. Thanks for looking.

New Carousel Notes Purse
Well here is Edition TWO. As some of you may be aware I made one of these earlier in the year with some of the gorgeous Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers but they have since retired along with the last carousel notes but....... we now have new ones and some more goregous papers to match. I also held a class for them earlier in the year which many were unable to attend and want to come to the next one so I had to get my butt into gear and organise a new one. I am pretty happy with this version too. I have used various punches, Simply Said and Life Definitions Stamp Sets, Riding Hood Red (should have used Ruby Red but have run out - was my fav colour for a period of time), Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Ink and Cardstock, 1/4 & 5/8" Grosgrian Ribbon, Filigree and Vintage Brads, my trusty Crop-a-dile and of course some of the new Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper. Hope you can join me for the next class.

Gift Bag and Gift Cards
I have been dying to make one of these ever since I saw Makeesha demonstrate it at Convention. I decided to make some matching little note cards and envelopes. I just love these papers and this stamp set. I used some of the Urban Garden DSP and the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set finishing it off with a vintage brad. Thanks again Makeesha for such great projects. I think I will use this as my Hostess gift and demonstrate it tomorrow. Dont forget you only have until the end of the month to make the most of the current promotion on Designer Series Papers - Buy 3, get one FREE!

Retro Fresh
This Kiwi Kiss 'In Colour' is really starting to grow on me, even the Retro Fresh colour range is and to think that when I first saw it all I could think was '70's' - eeewwww. I have discovered a whole new appreciation for this range. I put this together for my workshop on Saturday to showcase some of the DSP that is part of the current promotion. I hope my attendees like it too. I have use Good Friend Stamp Set and the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper. I also used some of the gorgeous Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon. I love how how this is two-tone. Finally it is finished with the Curly Label Punch Bundle. This layout was inspired by a swap I received from Kerri Hunter at Convention.

Another challenge...
Colour Inspiration #52
Well here is the next Colour Challenge from Kristina. Ok I really struggled with this one. I thought if I used my new favourite set (Circle Circus), it would help, but no. Here it is anyway. I'm not sure if all the layers worked. These colours were really hard to put together today but I persisted. I also used one of the new Bouquet Buttons. All materials are current SU (well in Australia anyway). I have used various circle punches and the scallop circle punch and some I cut out free hand (crazy hey). I have also used Baja Breeze DSP, Sahara Sand, More Mustard, So Saffron, Whisper White, Baja Breeze and some More Mustard Grosgrain Ribbon. The Thank You is from the Lovely Labels Stamp Set. It took way longer to do than I had planned but hey it's done now. Thanks for looking.

Upsy Daisy Embossed
Ok this is the last card for the night. I have to go to bed before the stroke of midnight and I turn into a 'pumpkin'. Once again following on from an inspiration on SCS, this card is using Urban Garden DSP again. I am really happy with this mainly cos I love pink and grey together but also cos it has some embossing. This technique was the 'WOW' that got me hooked on stamping and card making over 10 years ago. I don't do enough of it these days but it's nice to get back to basics every now and then. The In Colours these year are awesome too, it will be sad to see them disappear next year but at least we get an extra 6 months of them - YAY! My favourites are Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze. Ok, now off to bed :(
Urban Pocket Silhouettes
The Pocket Silhouettes and Urban Garden DSP work so well together. I totally CASED this card from SCS but had to add my favourite card stock at the moment - 'Kraft'. Besides I dont have the Basic Gray taffeta ribbon anyway so had to improvise :) It was a good opportunity for me to use some Styled Silver Hodge Podge too. I really should be prepping for my next workshop but am too busy creating tonight..... oh and doing my huge pile of marking for school as well. As if I would spend a Saturday night doing any of that!!!!!!!
Circles & Squares
I have wanted to do something with these colours and this set ever since convention......and here it is. Inspired by a card I saw on SCS, I have created this using Circle Circus, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Scallop Edge Punch, Square Punches and some Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon. This stamp set is so versatile, there are TEN stamps in the set that can be used in so many ways. Stay tuned for more Circle Circus projects as this set is growing on me.
Catalogue CASE
I have taken one of the samples in the Idea Book and Catalogue and changed it up a little with the colour. I have used Baja Breeze, Kraft (my new favourite colour), Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, a Blue Rhinestone Brad, a Clip, Scallop Edge Punch and some Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon. I really love this stamp set. I think it will feature in a lot of my future projects.

I CASED my CASE....
Well as you all may know I got married last year so now I have two Mums now, had to make another card didnt' I...... Here it is. I think I like this one better. Once again I tried out a technique I learnt at Convention this time from Michelle. The scallop edge of the Mother's day is done using the scallop border punch, putting it through the crimper and then making little slits along the bottom then bending it into shape around the wide oval. I have used Brocade Blue, Kraft, Confetti white, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon, vintage brads, wide oval punch and Parisian Breeze DSP. Ok, now off to do the walk :)
Saturday, May 9, 2009
I saw this card here and just had to CASE it. I love the colours and this stamp set (Thoughts and Prayers) is gorgeous. I have used Kraft cardstock and with Chocolate Chip and Confetti Cream. I hope my mum likes her card tomorrow. We are doing the Mother's Day Classic around the Tan for Breast Cancer. We do it every year and we love it. I bought my mum lots of goodies from Momento Mall last weekend including a drink bottle, an umbrella (I hope it doesn't rain) and a DSP apron. We will be using our drink bottles tomorrow morning for the walk. I know that they clash together but let's put it this way we would rarely be using all three at once! LOL. Now let's see how I pull up tomorrow evening after my 5 km's. Mum's roast will help me focus on the finish line :)
Color Inspiration #51
One of my goals this year was to participate in Kristina Werner's Color Inspirations on a regular basis and here is my first attempt. I have used the Fresh Cuts stamp set and matching note cards, some Chocolate Chip Ribbon and Accents and Elements with a brad. I also wanted to try another technique I learnt at Convention this year which was to punch the scallop border and feed it through the crimper. I think it gives it just a little something. Thanks for looking.

Inspiration Journal
Well I have started my Inspiration Journal (actually started it the day I got back from convention when I was standing in a queue at Maccas) This guy was standing in front of me and I was looking at his shirt and thought that would make a great card! If he only knew :) His back is now FAMOUS!!!!! LOL So............ had to take a pic of course, whipped out my phone and sneakily took this. Then I used some inspiration from a session Ngaire did at Convention which I just LOVED using the scallop punch and changed it up a little using my little man's shirt and hey.....the rest is history as they say. I have used the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue Cardstock and an Ice Light Blue Rhinestone Brad. Cant forget the punches too, I used the scallop for the flower medallion, simply punch 3 scallops and cut each in half and stick together with a glue dot and then finally the small and large oval punches. Dont forget the special promotion this month with the DSP. Bella Bleu is one of the papers you can get as part of the Buy 3-get one FREE. Place you order today on 0414 400 841.
More Baby Shower Projects
I saw these on Susie's Blog and just HAD to make one - little time consuming but easy as! I am going to make several in different colours - stay tuned..... I love any excuse to use my Big Shot. I used it to emboss the lining with my cuttlebug embossing folders and make the cover with my Nestabililties. They are designed to be used as Baby Shower Favours I guess but not much will fit in these and they are too cute to put food in I reckon!!!!!! Thanks for looking.
