Busy busy busy...........

If you are wondering why I havent posted for a while, it is because I am busy preparing for the Peninsula Craft Expo next weekend. Most of my team are located down on the Peninsula and are eager to meet you to introduce you to the fabulous possibilities available with Stampin' Up! So when is it and where you ask? September 5th & 6th at the Peninsula Community Theatre in Mornington, Cnr Wilson Rd and Nepean Hwy. Drop past for a visit and see us demonstrating lots of different techniques and ideas. Great colour combo

These colours go so well together. They are Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Cameo Coral and Whisper White. It makes it easy when Stampin' Up! release beautiful coordinating papers I must admit. I have tried to use a few of the new things in the Mini Catalogue on this card. The Great Friend set is such great value ($31.95 for 5 coordinating stamps) and very pretty. I have used a Basic Gray Corduroy button (new), some Basic Gray taffeta ribbon, Oval punches and the NEW scallop oval punch. I rolled the Vine Stampin' round wheel down the side and a piece of the Walk in the Park DSP (new). The butterfly has been done using the Rock'n'Roll technique.You stamp the image first in a light colour, then in a darker colour you just 'roll' the stamp around the edges. I used Pink Pirouette for the lighter colour.

Choo Choo......

As soon as I saw this set I knew I just had to have it. My step dad is mad keen on trains so much so that he actually has a train set in his backyard with real mini steam trains and all - no kidding! He has steam up's with his mates every now and then. I probably should take a picture to show you - oh well next time. Anyway enough babble, let's get down to what you see here. I have to confess that I CASED this from here. I always find it hard to come up with good masculine ideas for cards. I know this probably looks more like a young boys card but he LOOOOVED it! I used my markers to get two colours on the stamps. Kinda cute huh? I made a little spine like a book on the side and tied some ribbon round it before sticking it together. This set has a matching Stampin' round wheel for the track that I used along the bottom then I just sponged some bashful blue and mellow moss ink in the background. It's probably a bit hard to see from this photo, sorry. This set would be perfect for a boys scrapbook page.

Faux Dry Embossing variation

I made so many of these (the navy bases) at the craft fair a few weeks ago while I was demonstrating this technique, I thought I better get busy and mount them on some cards. I will do each one a little different. See here for the instructions from an earlier post on how to do this simple but effective technique. I cut some of the new Walk in the Park DSP from the latest mini and attached a clear button with some kraft taffeta ribbon. I totally love the taffeta ribbons, they are so easy to work with. The sentiment is from Cheer and Wishes. Stay tuned for more variations. This one is for my Nanna's birthday today. Looking forward to catching up with the family tomorrow :)

Die Cuts make it easy....

I put this card together to show you how easy it is to make a project with die cuts. You can purchase a packet of die cuts for $16.50 which includes four 12 x 12 sheets (one each of 4 different colours) of an assortment of various floral shapes. I cut up a flower for the leaves :)

The little felt flowers from Accents and Elements would look great with these too. In the background is a sheet from the hostess DSP pack. I have used a Flower Designer Brad in the middle and tied some Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain around the flower pot. I have used a sentiment from the Trendy Trees set with the word window punch. Mini Catalogue now available...

Here are some cute samples made with the new stamps, papers and accessories in the NEW mini catalogue. I am in love with all of it pretty much :) This is my display poster from the craft show last weekend. Here are some close ups of some of the cards. There are some great sets for masculine cards and some lovely new Christmas ones too. The corduroy brads are really nice and the new Walk in the Park & Ski Slope Designer Series Papers are so pretty. The Parisian Breeze DSP is especially fabluous as it is textured paper. I used that for the butterfly card in the middle of the poster. You can also make some great kids cards using the train set with matching wheel and the little Forest Friends is super cute. Everyone that has seen it says 'ooh Bambi and Thumper'. The best thing is that there is a little owl in that set too. I reckon that set is the best value for only $24.95. Stay tuned for more cute projects using the products in this new mini catalogue.
