Christmas is coming....

It's time to get organised with all those cards and gifts. Not only can you make your cards, you can make your gifts as well - how impressed will your friends be!!! These are SUPER EASY. All you need is some candles, some tissue paper, some baking paper, your favourites stamp sets and inks and your embossing tool. I am going to make some more of these over the coming days so stay tuned for more samples. I have to thank the wonderfully creative Simone for demonstrating this fabulous idea at Regionals a few weeks ago. I made candles like this many many years ago before I discovered Stampin' Up! but now I have sooooooooo many more options...... Thanks Simone for reminding me about this technique. Oh Baby!!!

One of my close friends at work is leaving to have a baby this week and I offered to make the card from all of the staff. The only problem is she isnt finding out what she is having so trying to make a card that isnt too boyish or too girly was difficult. So this is what I came up with (with a little help from my downline Jody - thx chicky) I had so many ideas for this card but when I started to put them on paper they just didnt work. This has been made using the Wild about you and Bugs and Kisses stamp sets and some of the free ribbon from last months promo. I hope she likes it. I have offered to make her baby thank you's so stay tuned for those creations come December:)

Regional Swaps

Here are the swaps I made for Regionals this year. Not as many as I would have liked but it has been so busy at work with the Yr 12's that I havent had as much time as I would normally. I also have included a pic of the swaps I received in return. Thanks to all the lovely ladies that swapped with me. I was really impressed with a lot of them especially the Christmas stocking - OMG!!!! Soooooooo much work. We were spoiled this year with our gifts and I was even luckier winning a new set from the soon to be released mini catalogue in December. Cant show you pics just yet but keep a look out in a month. I learnt so much this year and have lots of ideas I want to try. Stay tuned for samples of things I will make using some new techniques.

Class of 2009

As a gift from myself and the house at school we gave the Yr 12's a graduation card (I had some help from the Yr 10's and 11's otherwise I would have had no sleep at all this week) I found the idea here and just adapted a little using this great set - Great Grads. I really love the Shakespeare stamp. Lots of punches with this one but a bit quicker to do than the original owl I made about a year ago. Here are some photos of the 10's and 11's helping out. We had to make 24 of them!

Totally calorie FREE!!!

Well last week was very sad as I said goodbye to my Year 12's as they leave to go and prepare for their exams. I have been very busy the last few weeks preparing for this as well as doing my swaps for Regionals last weekend (will post those soon). During the year as each of my 'tutees' celebrate their birthday's, I bring in a cake or some cupcakes to enjoy the special day with all of the group, so as a reminder for them of the year with me I each made them a cupcake which they can keep (this one cannot be eaten) perhaps on their desks at home. I am so happy with the outcome and I brought them in in my cupcake stand for presentation. The girls loved them and so many people thought they were REAL! :)

I was able to use up a lot of the paper I had leftover from all the wedding stationery but some of my fingers went numb for a day after cutting all the cakes out. But the girls loved them so it was all worth it totally. I saw the idea here and couldn't resist having a go myself. I have topped them off with a pearl from the 'pretties kit'. To make these you need to cut three separate templates - one for the base, one for the inside and one for the top. Thanks for looking.

World Card Making Day Success

Today was lots of fun and I am sure all whom attended had an enjoyable afternoon. I have included some of the photos taken today including Kylie's finished projects (thanks Kylie, not bad for a first timer) and some of the attendees busy at work and the display. I would firstly like to thank Karen who very kindly arranged the venue for today and I am happy to announce that we were able to raise well over $200 towards our chairty fund for the Child Development Services at Central Bayside Community Health. Secondly I would like to thank my ever inspiring upline Gail for working with me today to create some gorgeous projects for everyone to make. Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting a local cause. We all really appreciated it.

Another WCMD project....

Here is the last of my 3 projects from today's World Card Making Day. It is a 2,5,7,10 box. I have more pics of some in an earlier post here where you can find a link to the instructions. The ladies loved them and using the wheel was fun too for everyone especially those who had not been lucky enough to use the Stampin' Round Wheels before. They are great for creating backgrounds for cards or scrapbook pages. The wheel we used today was called 'It's Beautiful' and is one of my favourites. If you wheel onto a white piece of cardstock with a dark colour ink, it comes up brilliantly and could be used for backgrounds for cards etc.. like the one below. A little tip - when you wheel large areas, wheel across your cardstock on an angle instead of up/down or left to right as this helps reduce visibility of the gaps between each roll. This can then be used in place of patterned paper on a card.

WCMD Christmas Cards

Here are the cards that we will be making on Saturday for World Card Making Day. These are just two of the 6 projects that we will be making and all for a low $25! I will post more photos after Saturday from the day's projects. If you still have not registered your attendance, please email me ASAP to see if there are any spots left. I have used the Season of Joy Stamp Set. This set is so versatile and can be used for cards and other projects besides Christmas which is why I love it so much. I have used Bravo Burgandy and Mellow Moss with Whisper White. With the tree, I stamped it three times and cut them out. I then scored them down the middle and stuck them together to give this 3D look which can still be sent flat in the post :)

World card making day is fast approaching and the event that myself and my colleagues (Kaz & Gail) have planned will be here before we know it. Bag a box....

I made a heap of these for the Craft show I did on the weekend as I was demonstrating how to make them along with the Post-it Note holders. They are made from the 2,5,7,10 box template. Super easy to make and all from one piece of A4 Card stock. I altered it a little from the template as our cardstock it slightly different to the US. If you would like a copy of my template click on the template below. For assembly instructions click here. These make great lolly bags for kids parties or favours for baby showers etc... You could also give them as small Christmas gifts with surprise treats inside like homemade biscuits or chocolates. I will be making these at our World Card Making Day coming up in October where you can help support a great cause and make lots of fun projects. The two on the left I have adhered using adhesive magnets, the other two are tied with ribbon through holes I have punched. On the mauve one I have used some Sticky cuts with the Superfine glitter. The two on the right have rub-ons along the botoomFor the greeen one I used the wide oval punch and punched from the bottom and stuck a piece of acetate over the window.
